China: product dossier priorities
For China, assess the Chinese product name and ingredient list alongside manufacturer registration information. Research new GB 7718 and GB 28050 versions and transition arrangements against planned production and market dates. Labels prepared for Hong Kong or Macao are not automatically transferred to mainland scope.
China: GB 7718 versions and new publications
China’s National Health Commission published the GB 7718-2025 prepacked food labelling standard through an official 2025 announcement and provides a separate questions-and-answers document. Publication and application dates should not be treated as identical. Record which version supports artwork intended for China, and treat comparison with the new text as a transition review. Assess the Chinese product name, ingredient wording and imported-product information against the scope and exceptions in the standard itself.
