What do we assess together?

Compound ingredients, additives and allergen information are matched against the recipe and supplier documents. Label wording and emphasis are considered within the relevant market's rules.

Cross-contact risk cannot be determined from packaging alone. Issues requiring production-process information and risk assessment are identified separately; precautionary statements are not used as an automatic solution.

Our review topics

  • Documentation of sub-ingredients in compound ingredients
  • Traceability of the allergen source in label text
  • The link between precautionary statements and production risk assessment

How do we connect supplier information to the packaging?

An ingredient's trade name alone may be insufficient for an allergen review. Sub-ingredients and current supplier declarations are matched to the recipe. Missing or conflicting documents are clearly flagged. Matters such as shared production lines are referred to the business as requiring technical assessment beyond reading the label.

What will you receive?

  • Ingredient and allergen matrix
  • Recommended ingredient-list wording
  • List of missing supplier documents

What you can prepare to get started

  • Current specifications for all ingredients
  • Supplier allergen declarations
  • Existing label and the business's cross-contact assessment

Sharing your document list is enough for the first meeting. The review method, delivery format and any local specialist verification needed depend on your product's characteristics.
