Scope of this guide
Includes jurisdiction-specific archive records. Current legal effect, labelling provisions and product exceptions require separate verification.
Regulatory sources and application framework
For this EU member market, research Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 together with product-specific rules. The European Commission explains that mandatory information must be in a language easily understood by consumers in the country of sale; national language and implementation matters require separate review. Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 is a separate source for nutrition and health claims. A common EU framework does not automatically validate every language version or product claim.
PRODUCT REVIEW IN PRACTICE
Belgium: product dossier priorities
For Belgium, define the intended language combination, including French and Dutch where used, with the product and sales area. Check that a recipe or allergen correction in one language is carried into the other versions. Where the same packaging is intended for neighbouring countries, track Belgium in its own column.
What do the selected sources cover?
Selected Belgian sources include organic production and labelling instruments for the Flemish region, plus records on foods with added nutrients and novel foods. A regional organic instrument should not be used as a single general rule for all Belgian products; match the product and jurisdiction to the scope stated in the record.
Jurisdiction-specific legislation records
Archive dates do not confirm current legal effect. Titles retain their source language; this selection is not exhaustive.
How is the label review dossier prepared?
Collect artwork, recipe, allergen evidence and importer details for the same product version. Our working method explains the shared document-preparation and reporting steps.
