Scope of this guide

PRODUCT REVIEW IN PRACTICE
Bahrain: product dossier priorities
For Bahrain, review Arabic and English wording alongside evidence for fats, gelatin and other compound ingredients. Whether the importer plans test marketing or regular retail distribution is a scope input. Compare the packaging origin statement with commercial shipping documents.
Bahrain: label evidence for imported food
Bahrain’s Public Health Law 34/2018 addresses explanatory and nutrition labelling for imported foods in line with adopted technical regulations in Article 25. The Ministry of Health also publishes requirements for prepacked food labels. Consistency between declared information and actual composition matters in import control. Distinguish the national law, labelling guidance and applicable technical regulation in the dossier, and do not confuse pre-approval procedures for special food categories with ordinary retail products.
