PRODUCT REVIEW IN PRACTICE
United Arab Emirates: product dossier priorities
For the United Arab Emirates, identify the emirate, importer and sales channel. Compare Arabic and English packaging versions with the local registration dossier. Shipment through a free zone and the final consumer sales scope are assessed as separate questions.
UAE: product registration and emirate-level scope
The UAE government’s food-safety page explains the national product registration system under the 239/2018 framework. Changes to labels, ingredients or composition of imported or local products require separate consideration for registration. Track federal food-safety legislation and the relevant emirate’s implementation and services as distinct parts of the same dossier. An Abu Dhabi authority record should not be treated as a single procedure for every emirate. Establish the product version, importer and actual emirate of sale before review; registration status alone does not establish the suitability of all package wording.
