Scope of this guide
Includes jurisdiction-specific archive records. Current legal effect, labelling provisions and product exceptions require separate verification.
Regulatory sources and application framework
For this EU member market, research Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 together with product-specific rules. The European Commission explains that mandatory information must be in a language easily understood by consumers in the country of sale; national language and implementation matters require separate review. Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 is a separate source for nutrition and health claims. A common EU framework does not automatically validate every language version or product claim.
PRODUCT REVIEW IN PRACTICE
Spain: product dossier priorities
For Spain, define the Spanish packaging text alongside the sales region and channel. A Spanish-language nutrition panel prepared for Latin America should not be reused without establishing the country scope. Reduced text space on multilingual packaging needs a separate check for allergen emphasis and the visibility of usage information.
What do the selected sources cover?
Spain’s record 1181/2018 concerns origin information for milk used as an ingredient in milk and dairy products. Separate texts address infant foods and food quality. Do not extend the scope of a milk-origin instrument into a general origin obligation for every ingredient or food.
Jurisdiction-specific legislation records
Archive dates do not confirm current legal effect. Titles retain their source language; this selection is not exhaustive.
How is the label review dossier prepared?
Collect artwork, recipe, allergen evidence and importer details for the same product version. Our working method explains the shared document-preparation and reporting steps.
Document preparation and working method
Label review: evidence and findings table
| Review scope | Evidence reviewed | Report output |
|---|---|---|
| Product name and class | Recipe, product form, intended use | Correct sources and review scope |
| Ingredients and allergens | Sub-ingredients, supplier and cross-contact records | Comparison of label text and evidence |
| Nutrition and claims | Analysis or calculation, serving, front wording | Data basis and claim evidence |
| Language and layout | Every face, local wording and supplementary label | Missing-information and readability findings |
| Import and traceability | Importer, lot, dates and shipment version | Document needs and local confirmation questions |
Sources and research method
Sources are selected research references. An archive record does not confirm current legal effect; national adoption of Codex texts requires separate verification.
